Style File: The First Day of Spring

Today the clouds cleared, the birds started to sing and the sun came out. Spring has officially arrived and I couldn’t be more excited! As much as I love layering up for Winter there is something quite liberating about Spring dressing. I delight in no longer having to cover up all of my favourite t-shirts with jumpers or having to think about appropriate footwear (something I don’t really own!). Bring it on Spring!

One trend that I am loving at the moment is embroidery, it is everywhere! I have had this white, lightly embroidered shirt for quite a long time and after not wearing it for a while, I feel that now is the perfect time for it to make its comeback. The balloon style sleeves make this a perfect transitional piece for spring and I can’t wait to start wearing it more.

Accessories wise, I always like to keep it simple. I have had my silver Casio watch for several years now, it goes everywhere with me and more importantly goes with everything. I like to team it with my silver triple-stacked ring, partly because I love it and partly because it seems to be the only ring I own that fits me properly!
I chose to pair my silver accessories with my low, rose gold trainers. On the rare occasion that I mix different metallics I will always choose silver and rose gold. They just look great together. It is really nice to accent a monochrome outfit like this with metallics and so to complete the look I chose a simple black bag with a rose gold fastening.

I am really enjoying dressing for the (slightly) warmer weather we are having and I think the shops have some absolutely lovely things in at the moment. I particularly think Zara, H&M and COS are doing a great job at the moment, what are your current favourites?
Love Holly x
