5 of the Best Places to Shop Online for Vintage

There are some pretty cool vintage shops local to me, but the choice isn’t huge and that can make it tricky to make the most of shopping vintage and add amazing, individual vintage pieces to my wardrobe. In steps the world of online shopping! With measurements galore and every style under the sun, it is easier finding vintage online than it may first appear, and than it has ever been before. With online shops to suit every style and size, shopping vintage online is surprisingly inclusive and a wonderful way to not only shop smarter but also kinder (to our lovely planet). With this being said, vintage shopping online is so good right now that the choice can be overwhelming, so many gorgeous shops and so little time – but don’t worry I’m here to help with that. Here’s a rundown of some of my absolute favourites to browse, I’mm sure you’re going to love them too!

Hilda Vintage

Hilda Vintage is a wonderful company curating super wearable collections that make me want to buy every item. The pieces fit perfectly into modern day life, having been pulled from across the decades, and this shop would be a great place to start if you are only just discovering vintage and want to see how to integrate it easily into your wardrobe. I recently bought a gorgeous oversized cream ‘bubble’ coat from her and it came so quickly, impeccably wrapped and almost feels new because it is in such good condition. A must visit site!

House De’Ville

A recent discovery of mine, Jemelia from House De’Ville has the best eye for a fun vintage find – from the perfect 60s floral dress to suit trousers of dreams. I love the way she styles each piece on the website so you can really see how the pieces fit and sometimes I find myself scrolling the website not only for the clothing but for some serious outfit inspiration too. It is also wonderful to see such a wide range of sizes – we love to see it!

Another Matinee

Another Matinee is the top of the pile when it comes to curated vintage, with their dresses each ‘collected, curated, repaired and reimagined’ to make the customer feel just fabulous when they wear them. Their collections are small, often sell out quickly, and this is for a reason – from perfect occasion wear to the ultimate summer day dresses, the clothes sold at Another Matinee really are the bees knees.

Beyond Retro

Here’s a vintage shop you may be familiar with, with shops all over the country Beyond Retro is one of the biggest UK vintage destinations. With size however, quality remains and if you ever happen across one of their shops it would be a missed opportunity not to take a look. Stocking everything, from accessories to dungarees, men’s and women’s – this is the perfect place to look for that one thing you’ve been trying to hunt out. Their search system is fantastic, pulling up results to even the most specific searches and again, their sizing is clearly marked and super inclusive. If you haven’t already discovered these giants, I suggest you hop on over now!

Anita Is

Last, but by no means least – Anita Is. Taking inspiration from ‘1960s london and french nonchalence’, this curated collection is the ultimate place to shop chic, but bold vintage. Their collection of shirts and dresses is second to none, but look out for their lingerie and nightwear too – a category only someone with true vintage knowledge and style could source and share so beautifully. I’ve just reminded myself how great this shop is and am off for another browse!
