Preloved Vintage Kilo Sale Haul

I don’t need to tell you how much I love a Vintage Kilo Sale. If you have been around here for any length of time you will know that they are one of my absolute favourite ways to spend a Saturday! I have already shared my top tips for making the most of these events, so thought today I would finally share a typical haul of clothes from one of the events. I mean I’ve been talking about them for long enough!

I picked these items up at a sale run by Preloved Vintage Kilo in Shrewsbury a month or so ago and have been loving them ever since. I think this collection just shows you that you can find really wearable items at these sales, not everything is an ABBA trouser or a shiny pink dress – although there’s always those too if that’s more your cup of tea. There’s something for everyone, and there was certainly some things for me! Let’s see what I got this time around…

This is one of my favourite finds, a midi dress with a drop hem and pleated detail… yes please. It looks so cool dressed down with a tight turtle neck underneath and some trainers, but is versatile enough that it can be dressed up with a belt and boots – a winner in my eyes. The sleeves and body are a single piece of fabric, which means there is a lack of fussiness about it. A simple silhouette.

I adore the colour of this simple, boxy shirt; it is so different – not quite pink not quite cream. The sleeves are really gathered at the ends, without being balloon sleeves and it is such as lovely detail that makes the shirt just a bit different. There are always so many cool shirts at the vintage kilo sales, but it is rare to find one without a crazy cool pattern so I was so happy when I found this.

Unfortunately, I thought this skirt fit me when I tried it on over my jeans at the sale, however I was obviously mistaken. It is handmade, with two panels and a beautiful waistband. It would have been such a nice summer skirt, but hopefully I will find it a new home on depop. Dammit!

I have packed these away for winter now, but not before I got a few days use out of them on some glorious late August days. They are the perfect ‘huge’ shorts. High waisted and voluminous, yet structures and put together. Certainly an acquired taste, but I for one can’t wait to get them out next time summer rolls around.

Who doesn’t love a silk shirt, they are just so soft and this is all the better for being ‘oversized” (read: from the men’s section). I love this kept crumpled over a vest top with jeans. It’s a great chilled look inspired by how Lizzy Hadfield wears her shirts.

This thick midi dress is my foray into the sporty vibe that seems to be bobbing around the shops. I love the darts in the front and the little zip at the front. Done up it gives the dress a smarter feel, which makes this piece that bit more versatile. If you love this COS have such a similar dress in their current collection here.

What’s your favourite item from this haul? I can’t wait to style them all, especially those mega shorts! Why not visit a Preloved Vintage Kilo sale near you, I’d love to know if you find anything good!
