The Simple Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

For me, a milkshake is the best drink there could be on a cafe menu. Fun, fruity and creamy – there’s not much to dislike there! To recreate the best strawberry milkshake at home I have one ‘recipe’ so simple that I can hardly call it that and I know you are going to love it. Grab your blender and let’s get making…

This recipe makes two medium sized milkshakes, or one GIANT one! First, get your blender and fill the cup it about 1/3 full with strawberries. Make sure you take the stalks out and cut them in half to help avoid big lumps.

Then take your vanilla ice-cream and add two scoops! I love to add vanilla because I think it makes the milkshake extra creamy, but if you are all about the fruity flavour then go for strawberry ice-cream – it’s equally as delicious and brings out the flavour.

Now, add a big spoonful of natural yoghurt. Your blender cup will look pretty full, so now all that’s left to do is to add the milk. Pour it in until it reaches about half way up the cup. And there’s all of your ingredients added! I told you it was easy.

All that’s left to do now is get blending! This will take varying amounts of time depending on your blender, but I would always say if in doubt blend for longer than you think – no-one likes a lumpy milkshake. It should take a minute at the most!

Serving time! This time around I decided to serve the milkshake as is with a glass straw, because what’s a milkshake without a straw. However, if you want to go fancy you could add a cream on top of the liquid in the glass and top with fresh mint, some tiny slices of strawberry or even some chocolate powder!

This recipe is a great way to use up extra fruit and the recipe works exactly the same way for a banana milkshake – just switch out the strawberries for a chopped up banana. Yum!

What’s your go-to summer drink?
